				ABOUT PHOTOS
		Making photos, the process of capturing a moment and place in time, has been an interest of mine for many years. Most of the moments and places that we experience are pretty mundane, so the challenge is to capture ones that are particularly interesting; that stand out and cause the viewer to stop and take a second look. This can be the result of unusual subject matter, an unusual viewpoint or a common subject involved in an unusual activity. At one time I planned to become a professional photographer, and completed a correspondence course with the New York Institute of Photography, but an engineering career called even stronger, so photography became an ever-present hobby instead. My early photography required flash bulbs, black and white film and an exposure meter. Now, with automatic cameras, zoom lenses and digital cameras, my photographic enthusiasm has been re-energized. I took most of the photos on this site since I became digitized, however I also scanned a few oldies that I like particularly well. As for subject matter, anything is fair game, but as you will see, natural subjects are my favorite. I hope you enjoy these photos and that some of them will make you take a second look.
